Cami Warren (They/them)
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As a mature and part-time student, I know how difficult and alienating it can be to be studying with mostly full-time, younger students who don't have caring responsibilities. Therefore, I want to help ensure that our voices are heard and that everyone feels welcome at UCL.

I want to raise the profile of us who are mature, part-time or with caring responsibilities, especially as these attributes can add additional challenges to our academic experience and we may need more tailored support. Importantly, I would also want to ensure that the network is actively aware of intersectionality.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have experience of being a postgraduate rep within the Geographical Society. This role has given me the opportunity to find out what students want and to organise events specifically aimed at postgraduate students.

I am also my programme's part-time academic rep and the department's lead rep. These roles have required me to ask for student feedback, recognise common issues or areas for improvement, share this with academic staff and report on progress.  These roles have made me accountable to my peers and have required organisation, teamwork and good listening skills.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I am passionate that everyone at UCL should feel welcome and a part of the community, and I want to be in this role to ensure that happens for mature, part-time students and students who are carers. I will bring a range of skills and knowledge, gained as a student and from my work experience, which I think will help me collaborate with other officers, within this network and beyond, and to work with UCL.

I want everyone to feel happy during their time here, so I will do my best to ensure that what you need is listened to.
