Election post

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

Hi! My name is Natalie and I'm a South Asian postgraduate law student. I would like to run for this position so I can be more actively involved with the POC Network. If elected, I would love to help continue the work of the current committee and create a welcoming environment for POC students at UCL. I enjoyed attending events such as the Curly Hair Workshop and would like to hold similar collaborations with the Women’s Network in the future. I believe having frequent collaborations with them would help build a strong sense of community and enable our members to build greater connections.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I believe I am well suited to this role, as I am currently on the Women’s Network Committee and hope to be re-elected next year. Being part of this committee has been a highlight of my time at UCL so far and this experience has helped me understand the responsibilities of a network committee member. Additionally, having a close working relationship with the Women’s Network would make it easier to facilitate collaborations with them as a Women Students’ Representative. I enjoy working as part of a team and like to think I am friendly and enthusiastic!

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I would love to work alongside the rest of the committee to help create a supportive environment for POC students at UCL, where they feel represented and can connect with other students from similar backgrounds. I am passionate about intersectional feminism and inclusivity, therefore as a Women Students’ Representative, I would like to ensure that everyone feels represented by our campaigns, events and policies. Thank you for your consideration!
