Election post

Status
Elected
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

What I bring to the role is my own experiences that span over 2 years being a mentee in a programme for a social mobility charity. Additionally in the past I have volunteered in this charity, sharing my own experiences of social mobility on a student panel & have assisted young students with any questions they may have, that are within this scope. I would also like to think that I am a welcoming & warm person, who can help people feel seen in small ways. Overall I would like to bring a sense of empathy & understanding to the role, beyond the professional responsibilities & duties prescribed.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I would like to work with societies (particularly related to social mobility) in order to it make a more accessible & welcoming place for individuals from a low socio-economic background. My aspiration is to foster a comfortable space for students interested or effected to reach out, so that we can properly evaluate together what it we really want to see change, about how we tackle this issue in the SU. Overall my main goal is that no one should ever feel guilty or insecure raising any questions or concerns they may have about social mobility – especially if they are related to wellbeing.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

You should vote for me if you think I would be a good candidate for the role & believe that I can do something to make a greater difference. Thank you for reading :))
