Welcome to UCLU Campaigns

UCLU supports a huge range of campaigns on everything from struggling against poverty pay and education cuts on our own campus, to campaigning for free higher education, to promoting global justice and the environment – we are here for you.

Sign the petition for the London Living Wage.

Find out more about ‘Save UCL,’ a coalition of students, staff and alumni fighting cuts at UCL.

Do you have something you’d like to get active on? Take a look at the ‘campaign week’ bidding process below.

And whatever your cause, get in touch any time by emailing Michael Chessum, Education & Campaigns Officer 2010/11 on ec.officer@ucl.ac.uk

Do You Have a Cause? Campaign Bids for Spring 2011 are Now Open!

Bidding closes on 7th October 2010

Want to raise awareness among students of an issue you care about? Want to call for change to make the world we live in a better place? Follow in the footsteps of many successful campaigns, such as DisarmUCL, and bid for a ‘campaign week’ in Term 2 of 2010-11.

Student-led campaign weeks at UCLU offer you up to £500 to run the campaign you want to see. You could do it with a group of friends, within a club or society, or drawing on a broad coalition of societies – the point is, it’s up to you.

Download a bid form here, have a think about what campaign you might like to run, and return the form to uclu-campaigns@ucl.ac.uk.

If you have any questions, want to talk over an idea or generally want some help with putting together a budget, please do get in touch with Michael at ec.officer@ucl.ac.uk, or come and see him on the 4th floor of the Union at 25 Gordon Street.

Clarification on Promotional Materials Provided by External Organisations
Campaigners are able to use promotional materials providedby external organisations, subject to approval by a Sabbatical Officer. This means if, for example, Amnesty International Society wanted to distribute leaflets or magazines printed and published by Amnesty International they would be allowed to do this, so long as they pre-submitted one copy to the Sabbatical Suite for approval before doing so. The only exception to this policy is at Freshers' Fayre, when stricter rules are applied due to commercial reasons.
