What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
With a decade of competitive swimming shaping my life, I embody the spirit and challenges of an athlete. My journey includes being the MVP at the 2018 ISST Netherlands, securing a swimming scholarship at Nexus International School, Singapore, and competing in elite events like the FINA Championship, Olympic qualifiers, and nationals. These experiences have honed my leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills. As a sports officer, I will leverage these strengths to enhance our sports society, fostering an environment where talent thrives and community bonds strengthen.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
My vision is to dismantle barriers to sports participation at UCL, which often stems from students thinking that they are "not good enough". I plan to initiate a vibrant health campaign which will underscore the message that sports are inclusive and accessible to all skill levels. My goal is to cultivate a university-wide culture where joining a sports society is a universal endeavor, promoting a sense of belonging, teamwork, and a healthier lifestyle. This initiative aims to empower students to stay active and fit, enhancing both their physical and mental well-being.

swimming competitively over the last decade has taught me important lessons; sports is not about winning, it's about courage, resilience, and bouncing back from setbacks. These experiences, from the highs of victory to the lows of defeat, have shaped me into who I am: a proud UCL student, who is ready to serve the union for our sports community. My journey exemplifies hard work, perseverance, and teamwork. I promise to bring this spirit to our community as a future sports officer, in order to create more inclusive, collaborative environment not only for athletes but also students.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
As a member of RUMS Rugby, RUMS Football, ISoc Wrestling, ISoc Basketball and more, I have a good understanding of a range of sports and some of the difficulties that different clubs have experienced when trying to organise different activities such as training and fixtures. Recently I helped set up an Inter-hall football league between 12 UCL Halls and have organised several sporting events such as Sports Days and Regional Events prior to joining UCL. My experience co-ordinating various teams and running events will help me achieve my goal of making sports at UCL bigger and better than ever.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
1. Creating a UCL Sports Youtube Channel with live broadcasts of various sporting fixtures throughout the year as well as highlights and mixtapes from those clubs eager to show off their sporting prowess to the world.
2. An annual event where we definitively decide who is the best team in each UCL sport. I want to launch a week-long event where the top teams from each sport battle it out for the title of UCL No. 1. This would mean RUMS vs UCL vs ISoc vs Red Star and more in Football. This could mean each martial art society sending a representative to compete in a UCL wide MMA tournament.

If you want the world to see you and your team put on a sporting masterclass. If you want to finally silence your UCL rivals and defeat them in front of the entire university. If you want a representative who will actually get things done and make sports at the country’s largest university as huge as it can be.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Hey everyone, I’m Rosie. Being part of the netball club and TeamUCL is without a doubt the best thing I have done since starting uni! Having had previous captain and leadership roles, I have learnt how to support a team and know the value of hard work and commitment. I believe I have the experience to be a great Sports Officer for next year and would love to help more people be involved and enjoy sport at UCL.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
My aims:
Impact - Listen to what students want and need to successfully represent their interests at the Activities Zone meetings
Collaboration - More fundraising and volunteering events/campaigns between clubs.
Sustainability - Organise 2nd hand kit sales which also makes kit more affordable.
Inclusion - Sport should be accessible to EVERYONE! Have more trial opportunities by reducing barriers to participation & promoting Project Active.
BLEED PURPLE - Raising the profile of UCL sport and unifying the different sporting clubs by creating more interclub support and a buzz around varsity

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Hi, I’m Bella and I’m running for Sports Officer!
I have been heavily involved in UCL sport throughout my 3 years here, loving every bit of it, and I hope I can continue to do so! As a committee member for UCL Muay Thai Club (both as PR Secretary and President), I have learnt the ins and outs of what it takes to run a club and foster a community. Having competed on the Netball team and also participated in a TeamUCL social league, I gained insights into different club members' experiences. So, I look forward to using my experiences and love for sports to help more people enjoy sport at UCL.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
If elected, my focus will be on:
- Access: Increasing year-round opportunities to join clubs, with emphasis on 'Re-freshers' in Term 2 and ongoing Project Active sessions
- Competitiveness: Advocating for niche sports inclusion in national competitions and Varsity to enhance competitiveness across all clubs
- Development: Providing additional support and training for events and campaigns, including TeamUCL Against Hate, Black History Month, This Girl Can, and Sustainability
- Unity: Promoting collaboration among sports clubs and bridging the gap between RUMS and TeamUCL to foster inclusivity

As former president of UCL’s largest martial art clubs, I know how vital good administration and mentorship in unlocking the true potential of every individual in the special way only sports do. What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Hey I’m Jack! I’m this years Sports Rep and the Men’s Captain of UCL Boat Club.
This is what I will bring to this role:
- This year I was a Sports Rep, working with the current Sports Officer and fellow Activities Zone members to pioneer UCL policy change.
- As Men’s Captain of UCL Boat Club, I coordinate and coach our Novice Programme, taking athletes within a squad of 40+, from beginners to competing at a national level.
- I have extensive experience in leadership positions, sitting on the Sports Representative Group, Activities Zone and a committee member of UCL Boat Club.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
- Opportunity: Sport should be open to EVERYONE. I will support clubs to expand their beginner programmes and develop our student coaching network.
- Promotion: Many of our large sports events don’t get the media coverage they deserve, while many of our smaller clubs are neglected. I plan to advocate for greater promotion of our Varsity & BUCS events and increase exposure for our smaller clubs.
- Community: Bridge the gap between RUMS and TeamUCL as well as encouraging more clubs to get involved in our UCL Leagues programme, to help foster and expand our TeamUCL community.
